How long does delivery take? +
Each print is made to order: production takes 2–4 working days, then delivery 2–5 working days depending on where you are. Most UK orders arrive within a week of ordering.
Are these real photographs of famous cars? +
No — and that's the point. Every artwork is an original design in the spirit of an era: no manufacturer badges, no team liveries, no licensed archive photography. You get art with the soul of the machines, not a licensing workaround.
Can I turn a photo of my own car into wall art? +
Yes — that is the Paint Shop. Upload a photo of your car, pick a style (vintage racing poster, blueprint, single-line, neon night drive and more), and see a free preview in seconds. When you order, we render it at full gallery resolution and print it.
Will my printed Paint Shop artwork look like the preview? +
Yes — the final render uses the same style instructions as your preview, at much higher resolution. Small details may differ slightly because the artwork is regenerated, but the style and composition match the preview.
What size car poster should I get? +
A3 (30×42 cm) suits desks, shelves and smaller walls; A2 (42×59 cm) holds its own above a sofa or bed; 50×70 cm is the statement size for a feature wall or garage. Our size guide compares all three in real rooms.
Why is a size blocked when I upload my photo? +
We measure your photo's pixels against each print size. Below 150 dpi a print looks soft, so we don't sell it. A 12-megapixel phone photo comfortably covers A3 and usually A2.
What do you do with my uploaded photos? +
Uploads are used only to produce your preview and your print. Unpurchased uploads are deleted automatically after 30 days; previews after 2 days. We never use your photos for anything else.
What paper and inks do you use? +
Posters print on 200 gsm+ archival matte stock with pigment inks; canvas is poly-cotton blend on FSC-certified stretcher bars; frames are wood with shatterproof plexiglass.
Do prices include VAT and shipping? +
Yes. The price on the page is the price at checkout — UK VAT and delivery included.
Do you ship outside the UK? +
Yes — prints are produced in the facility nearest to you and shipped worldwide. Delivery is included in the price wherever you are.
Can I return a print? +
If your order arrives damaged or wrong, we reprint or refund — photos within 30 days to hello@petrol-and-ink.com. Because every print (especially custom ones) is made just for you, we can't accept change-of-mind returns on personalised items, in line with UK consumer law.
